Education as a Tool for Food System Transformation

  • North Country Food Justice Summit 45 Museum Drive Tupper Lake, NY, 12986 United States (map)

The North Country Food Justice Working Group presents FEED BACK: Cultivating Action, where participants will learn about the Adirondack food system and how to get engaged in creating positive change, including farming the land, food security efforts, political activism, community organizing, and nutrition education.

Session Description:

Today more than ever, we need systems that connect learning and doing. In this workshop, build skills to create and facilitate impactful educational experiences that engage directly in potent regional issues. We will mine our personal experiences to co-generate a list of elements of impactful learning, review best practices in community-based education, and use the Eco Practicum curriculum building tool to begin designing action-oriented educational programs to address North Country food system challenges.
