about
Approaching the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the first name you see is "David H. Koch." It was recently etched into the fountains in front of the Met in golden letters. But Koch's name should never grace a public space.
Now, the people are taking the plaza back. We will use it for protest and learning and building solidarity. Nestled in front of the museum's rich cultural resources and near Central Park, the People's Plaza offers the perfect venue for a thriving public culture.
We declare the plaza OPEN and FREE for anyone to use. Democratic gatherings counter the Koch Brother's cash-fueled grip on power. We are launching a new platform to schedule use of the plaza.
